Version 4 and 5
Alright, if you're reading this, you've probably read the title. Or you've just turned your brain off and are just subconsciously clicking around Itch for no reason at all. Either way, going forward, I'll be writing about the next two updates each time I release a new build instead of just the next one. This is because when I released version three, I also released version 4 on Patreon. (Shameless self promotion) Meaning that each time I talk about what will be added next, I'm actually talking about something I've already finished and for me that's not as fun. (Yes, I enjoy talking about stuff I haven't started yet, sue me.)
With that out of the way, I'll just get in to upcoming features:
Version 4:
Version four will include a new story mission that moves the story of the Breaker forward. It also has the first boss fight of the game. So that's cool.
The Bordello has also been expanded to include purchasable rooms with upgrades. version 5 will include the ability to purchase workers and add scenes to each room and for some of the workers.
I finally got around to adding a skill tree with abilities that compliment each other. Currently you can equip all abilities and use them, but I'm working on a slot system in which you can equip up to four abilities from a large pool of upgrades. As well as generic abilities, there is also a powerful active ability that makes Ruben significantly stronger when active, and permanent buffs to weapon damage and health. I've also made a skill tree for Gron for when I add him as a companion. I'm not sure when he will be recruitable. As of version 4, he can be cured, but it will take some time to go through the game and add variants for scenes when he's with you.
Maeve can now attend an amateur swordsman contest. The contest also has a betting mechanic that I plan to expand across the game. (Horse betting, bare knuckle fighting, gambling etc.)
There are also a few new scenes in the manor about Riley.
Version 5:
As of this log, I'm currently working on version 5 so I'll just talk about what I'd like to add. (Barring anything that continues from the main mission in version 4 to avoid spoilers)
Firstly, I'd like to revisit the Coalfell horror and flesh it out a bit more. The Coalfell mission was admittedly a bit rushed and I'd like to expand it a bit. Changes I want to make include expanding the village and making it more explorable and open world, similar to the rest of the game, changing up the last act, and maybe adding some shops and side missions within the mission itself. Only Human is in development and I'd honestly be shocked if there was nothing in the game I'd like to change. I've already done it for the vampire mission and I'm really proud of that change. So hopefully I can do the same for the Coalfell mission.
On the topic of bounty missions, I'm working on a second one about a werewolf. Coalfell had quite a dark an serious tone, so I want to do something a little more light hearted. I don't want to get into the specifics right now because I don't want to ruin the mission for everyone, but I'm quite excited to start it.
As usual I want to add a new story mission. I won't get into it to prevent spoilers, but you can expect the story will continue with each update... because why wouldn't it.
Achievements. Who doesn't love trophies for doing literally nothing? Plus they're super fun to make and I can dish out achievements for some truly stupid acts. So why not? Why did I wait until almost the end of the log to give context to the image? Because I can.
Finally, I'd like to add some more manor and village scenes as well as side missions. I usually make these changes towards the end of an update, and the bounty missions take some time so there's a definite chance that these updates won't make it into every new version. I am just one guy after all.
